A Library That Designs the villa
I have always been interested in designing homes because they reflect people's emotions and personalities. I took on the design of a villa located in the south of Iran. The client is an author with a deep admiration for classical Persian poetry, particularly the *Shahnameh*. Inspired by his passion, I designed a library as a central space in the villa, proportioned using the golden ratio. The formal language of the library is inspired by the geometry of books themselves: rectangles and squares, echoing the familiar shapes of poetry collections. These repeating forms create a sense of rhythm, much like the verses they’re meant to hold. For the color palette, I selected hues drawn from natural stones found in the Persian Gulf. I traveled to the region to study the stone colors and ensure they resonated with the client’s personal taste. The plant selections were made from native species of southern Iran to further root the project in its cultural and ecological context.
